Congratulations

There are so many occasions to offer congratulations - wedding anniversaries, exam success, new jobs. I've stamped and embossed images and used stickers to make these cards. The shaker box allows the beads to move creating an intriguing rattle when the card is in the envelope.

Super Stamps

I was given lots of super stamps for Christmas. Here are some of the cards I've made using them. The background on the celebrate card was produced using a peel off sticker and sponging with bright coloured ink.


All these motifs were embossed after stamping. Holographic embossing powders give a subtle sparkle while shiny black looks elegant on the Rennie Mackintosh inspired card. Water colour pencils enhance details.

Easter Eggs

With Easter coming I've started to make a range of egg cards. The holographic and foam stickers are fun, while gingham ribbons give a fresh spring time feel.

Purple Flowers

Another card made by stenciling the background using a simple punched mask. This card was made for a sick friend.

New Home

A paint sample card provides the starting point for this card. Punched shapes and a key tag continue the theme.

Thank you flowers

Watercolour pencils add interest to simple peel-off stickers. Ribbons and sequins in complementary shades complete the design.

Autumn leaves

A leaf punch was used to create a stencil to print the background in autumn colours. Bronze foil backs leaf-shaped apertures in pearlescent green card and the whole design is finished with a toning tag decorated with bronze peel off stickers.

Cerise and Lime

Textured paper, apertures, bright colours, ribbons and a domed sticker all combine to create a striking card. Strips of leftover textured paper decorate the matching envelope.

The Very Angry Caterpillar

I don't know what has upset the caterpillar, but he is not in a good mood and the butterfly is making a quick get away. A great card for a child as it encourages imaginative story telling.

Minibeasts

These googly-eyed insects intrigue young children and create a jungle feel when set against this large patterned background paper.

Open Road

Spirelli is the technique of winding thread around a jagged edged shape to create a border. Here the gold thread contrasts beautifully with the red card and draws the eye towards the desirable car. The black and white paper gives the impression of the open road and leaving traffic jams behind!

Saxaphone

Vellum, being transparent, can be difficult to attach neatly to cards. The problem was overcome here by using brads and covering their backs, inside the card, with a co-ordinating insert. Coloured pencils were used to highlight the stickers.

Birthday Snaps

It's often hard to find good birthday cards for men - most come covered in flowers or hearts. This one is fun and perfect for any budding photographers!
